Pupils attended a workshop that looked at the Maya, Nigerian and Mesopotamian cultures. Pupils handled objects from each civilisation and discussed their designs and uses. In small groups pupils gave a short presentation to the class about their object.
We walked around the museum and saw different artefacts from the Iron Age in Britain through to Sutton Hoo and the Vikings. Pupils really enjoyed seeing the Ancient Egyptian mummies and Hoa Hakananai’a which is one of the statues from Rapa Nui (Easter Island) as it was mentioned in Oliver and the Seawigs.
